Care around you

Understand the cause. Build a treatment plan you can follow.

Dry eye can happen when you do not produce enough tears, when tears evaporate too quickly or when eyelid and oil-gland problems reduce tear quality. Screen use, contact lenses, medication, environment and general health may all play a part.

At our Bloomsbury dry eye clinic, we look at your symptom pattern, tear film, eyelids and ocular surface. The result is a practical plan tailored to the likely cause rather than a generic product recommendation.

Is this right for me?

This appointment may help if you need:

  • Gritty, burning or stinging eyes
  • Eyes that water despite feeling dry
  • Fluctuating vision or screen discomfort
  • Contact lens dryness or reduced wearing time

What to expect

Clear advice, not a rushed transaction.

01

A detailed dry eye assessment

We discuss when symptoms occur, health conditions, medication, skincare, screen use and contact lens wear. Clinical checks may include the eyelid margins, meibomian glands, tear stability and the surface of the eye, depending on your presentation.

02

Treatment shaped around the cause

Your plan may combine lubricating drops, warm compresses, eyelid hygiene, environment changes, screen habits, nutrition advice or in-practice therapies. Not every option suits every type of dry eye, so we prioritise steps that match your findings.

  • A clear daily care routine
  • Product advice matched to symptoms
  • Contact lens and screen-use adjustments
  • Review or referral when appropriate
03

When dry-eye symptoms may be urgent

Sudden vision loss, severe pain, marked light sensitivity, chemical exposure or significant injury is not a routine dry-eye presentation. Seek urgent medical or eye-care advice rather than waiting for a standard clinic appointment.

Common questions

Before you book.

Still unsure which appointment you need? Call the team and describe what is happening.

Why are my eyes watery if they are dry?

An unstable or irritated eye surface can trigger reflex watering. Those tears may not remain on the eye long enough to provide lasting comfort, so watering and dryness can occur together.

Can screen use cause dry eyes?

Long periods of concentrated screen work can reduce blinking and increase tear evaporation. It may be one factor among several, which is why an assessment is useful when symptoms persist.

Can I still wear contact lenses with dry eye?

Often yes, but lens material, fit, replacement schedule, wearing time and the underlying dry-eye pattern all matter. We can review these as part of your care.
